HUMAN (IN)SECURITY: THE SECOND AUTOMATION ANXIETY WORKSHOP

On Tuesday, April 11, the Digital Cultures Research Centre is hosting Human (In)security, the second AHRC Automation Anxiety Research Network Workshop.
This workshop will explore anxieties concerning the automation of military and security technologies as its principal focus, while extending the network’s exploration of methods for investigating the future of automation and the anxieties it often provokes today through media coverage, speculation and the disruptive strategies of corporate technological innovation.
Confirmed speakers include Benjamin Noys (Chichester), Noortje Marres (Warwick), Dean Wilson (Sussex) and Ryan Bishop (Winchester School of Art). Workshop convenor is Patrick Crogan (DCRC), and the Automation Anxiety network is led by Benjamin Roberts (Sussex Humanities Lab).
