The Centre for Latin American & Caribbean Studies at the University of Manchester is pleased to invite submissions from PGR students based in the UK to give a paper at the forthcoming one-day conference ‘Cultures of Anti-Racism in Latin America and the Caribbean’ to be held on 3 February 2017. The conference is funded by the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS).

The keynote talk for the conference will be given by Henry Stobart (Royal Holloway) and other confirmed speakers include Jo Crow (Bristol), Charlotte Gleghorn (Edinburgh), Fiorella Montero-Diaz (Keele), Nick Morgan (Newcastle), Patricia Oliart (Newcastle), Charles Pigott (Cambridge), Fabienne Viala (Warwick), and Emily Zobel Marshall (Leeds Beckett) [further speakers TBC].

We will accept two PGR papers and both students will receive a bursary to cover travel expenses and one night’s accommodation. Submissions should be sent by 30 November to James.Scorer@manchester.ac.uk and Peter.Wade@manchester.ac.uk and should include a 300-word abstract and a one-page CV.
